On November 10th, 2018, we participated in the Global Run4Water at the WakeMed Soccer Park. To raise funds for a clean water project, we carried 21 gallons of water for a mile.

On June 2rd, 2018, we had our annual Duck Race down the Eno River. Our club members have collectively sold $ 22,560 of rubber ducks and our selling partners have collectively sold $ 21,115 of rubber ducks.

On March 13th, 2018, our club celebrated St. Patrick's Day in the Med Deli on Franklin street. We enjoyed a good time with Irish whiskey, Med Deli food, corny Irish jokes, a Boston-kind-of-Irish MC, amazing live music, fantastic prizes, awesome decorations and a blow up leprechaun.

On March 10th, 2018, Sunrise Rotarians participated in the Rotary Tree Planting Challenge with the Durham Rotary Club, and the Southwest Durham Rotary Club. The Rotary Tree Planting Challenge was started by Rotary International President Ian Riseley, who challenged Rotarians to plant 1.2 million trees this year, one for each Rotarian. Together with the organization Keep Durham Beautiful and Boy’s Scouts, we planted about 35 trees this afternoon at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.

On November 11th, 2017, Sunrise Rotarians supported the Tchaikovsky Virtuosi Fundraiser of the Triangle Youth Ballet. The Triangle Youth Ballet is a non-profit ballet repertory company with a school that trains dancers from age agree to adults. The profits of the fundraiser go to fund the orchestra for this season of the Nutcracker.

On September 26th 2017, we had our membership/pool/shag party. We had a fun time swimming, dancing, playing corn hole and sipping daiquiris.
