 Ronald McDonald House Cooking

The Ronald McDonald House is an international nonprofit charity that offers families with hospitalized children a place to stay near the hospital while their child is being treated. The Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill provides families with children at the UNC hospital with a place to stay. The Sunrise club participates in the Family Meal Plan at the Ronald McDonald house, where we cook a homemade dinner for the families and children. The Rotarians prepare together a meat entrée, a salad, side vegetables, bread or rolls, and desserts. Dinner is served at 6 o’clock and about 40 to 45 people come to share the home cooked meal. The cooking at the Ronald McDonald House is a long-time service project of the Chapel Hill Carrboro Sunrise Rotary club. Additionally, the Sunrise club helps raise money for the Ronald McDonald House through the annual Duck Race.
